Get Rid of Bad Online Reviews

Let’s cut right to the chase. You can’t ACTUALLY remove bad online reviews. Whether it’s Google, Facebook, Yelp, or any other review aggregation site, removing bad reviews would defeat the entire purpose of reviews--to act as an impartial system that allows customers to make educated decisions before soliciting a service or the purchasing of a product.

Bury the Bad With the Good

However, there ACTUALLY is a way to mitigate damage from bad reviews--get more good reviews! And get them repeatedly! In other words, bury the negative reviews by injecting more and more positive reviews that, in-turn, push the negative reviews to a much lower place on the proverbial review-totem-pole.

According to BrightLocal, 82% of people read online reviews before making a purchase. So, you might have a 4.5 star rating, but if that one negative review sits close to the top of a search result, suddenly that 4.5 feels closer to a 2.5 star to the reader. Recency matters.

Google, like many review sites, values recency and frequency of reviews. In other words, the more you get, the more you’ll show up at the top of a search--as long as the positives outweigh the negative. You have GOOD customers. They just need to leave you more reviews!

How Swell Can Help

Swell makes it simple to ask those good customers to leave those positive reviews. In fact, it automates it for you while also allowing for customizations so that any customer can seamlessly leave a review right from their phone. And when it’s that simple, they actually do.

Swell, on average, can help you generate 20+ reviews a month, and in many cases, much more than that. One new Swell customer recently said “It’s crazy. Every night I get home and I get notified that I have another 5 Star review. We’ve seen 40+ reviews in just 3 weeks of using Swell”. Learn more here.
